Alfreton sign strike duo

Nationwide North club Alfreton Town have secured the services of strikers Tristram Whitman and Craig Mitchell ahead of the new season.

26-year-old Whitman has spent the last three seasons with Tamworth and has previously played for Arnold Town, Doncaster Rovers, Tamworth, Dagenham & Redbridge, Scarborough, Leigh RMI and Crawley Town at the end of last season.

21-year-old Mitchell was a target of Hucknall Town and Worksop Town but boss Gary Mills has managed to snap up the promising young forward following his release by Sutton.

A pre-season friendly in early August is also part of the package which helped Mitchell move to the Impact Arena and Mills is undoubtedly delighted the Nottinghamshire club agreed to let him go.

Meanwhile, Emeka Nwadike has pledged his future to Alfreton and put pen to paper on a one-year deal with the Reds.
