Harrogate Town moved to within three points of pole position of the Nationwide North table following a 2-0 win over Hinckley on Tuesday night.
A crowd of 849 had to wait until the 67th minute for Harrogate to open the scoring when Darren Dunning found the net.
Michael Love gifted Town the second when he put the ball past his own goalkeeper five minutes from the end.
Hucknall Town kept their hopes of reaching the play-offs alive with victory at the Giant Axe against bottom club Lancaster City.
Despite the Dolly Blues having already been relegated, Barrie Stimpson's young side ensured the Nottinghamshire outfit were not going to run away with it and in the end only Jermaine Hollis' 65th minute goal could separate the sides.
Redditch United moved four points clear of the drop zone after their victory by the odd goal in five at Sandy Lane against Worksop Town.
Carl Heggs gave the visitors the lead shortly before half time but that was cancelled out a matter of seconds later by Nathan Jarman.
Twelve minutes after half time Carl Palmer restored Redditch's lead and three minutes later Chris Murphy found the net to make it 3-1 only for Ben Saunders to reduce the deficit five minutes later.
The match between Nuneaton Borough and Alfreton Town at Manor Park could only produce one goal which Brian Quailey managed to pick up.
