Nationwide South club Dorchester Town are expected to take their time in appointing a new permanent manager following the resignation of Mark Morris.

Morris quit the club last week and cited Dorchester's lack of funds as the main reason for calling it quits at the Avenue Stadium.

With chairman Eddie Belt currently on holiday, new director and Belt's expected replacement Chris Pugsley has confirmed that the Dorchester board plan to appoint a caretaker-manager before advertising the vacant position.

Former Dorchester striker and new under-18's boss Trevor Senior and Hamworthy United manager Phil Simkin have been tentatively linked with the job.

Ex-Dorchester and Weymouth boss Stuart Morgan and current reserve manager Paul Morrell are also in the frame to take up the vacant post.
