Majeeds: No money, no deal
|
Broadfield Stadium |
Crawley Town owners Chaz and Anwar Majeed have declared their intention to play hardball in their bid to raise the money they owe to creditors.
Following entrepreneur Matthew Pearson's failure to buy the club two weeks ago, the owner of Britannia Sports Management has failed to meet a second financial promise to Crawley's owners.
Chaz Majeed has now lost patience, declaring: "The message from me and my brother is this - we are in control and we will remain in control. If anyone doesn't like it, they can get out."
The brothers' SA Group Ltd will now remain in charge at Broadfield Stadium for the foreseeable future, or until a suitable offer for the club is received.
Majeed added on Sky Sports: "We will no longer be communicating with the supporters' trust after this mess with Pearson.
"It appears his cheque was written from an account that doesn't exist anymore. I was then promised a direct money transfer. This money has not yet arrived."
The Majeed brothers have until the end of October to repay creditors close to £1 million for months of non-payment.
