Magpies miss out on Hemsley
|
Mick Jenkins |
Dorchester Town manager Mick Jenkins has missed out on the signing of former Crawley Town skipper Kevin Hemsley due to the club's location.
Jenkins was hoping to boost his defensive options ahead of the weekend's FA Cup Third Qualifying Round tie against Lewes but the defender has turned him down for a second time due to the travelling time involved.
"I'm very disappointed because he would have been ideal and I thought I had a good chance of getting him," Jenkins told The Dorset Echo.
"Kevin could have trained at Crawley but I want all my players to be able to train at Dorchester a couple of times a week and with the things going on in his life he thought that was too much of a commitment.
"It now looks unlikely that I will be able to get anyone before Saturday but I plan to keep on looking."
