Celtic loan Hollingsworth

Nationwide North club Stalybridge Celtic have secured the services of York City central defender Darren Hollingsworth on a month's loan.

York manager Billy McEwan allowed the 18-year-old to join Celtic in order to gain some first-team experience and he went straight into the squad for Tuesday's 4-3 win over Nuneaton Borough.

Another new signing, midfielder Steve Smith, also featured in the win having joined the club last week.

The former Ashton United and Emley player joined the club following his release by league rivals and Tameside neighbours Hyde United.

However, James Turley has gone on a month's loan to Mossley, while Nick Platt has joined North West Counties League leaders FC United of Manchester.
