Cards clinch Poke loan
Michael Poke

Glenn Cockerill, manager of Nationwide Conference side Woking, has secured the services of Southampton keeper Michael Poke on a month's loan.

The Surrey-born stopper worked his way through the ranks of the youth and reserve teams and earned himself a place on the first team bench at the end of 2003/04 season.

He has yet to make a first team appearance for Southampton but has featured for Oldham and Northampton on short loan deals.

Poke is expected to go straight into the Woking starting line-up following Shwan Jalal's departure to Sheffield Wednesday on a month's loan.

"Michael has had a few injuries and needs to be playing so it's a good opportunity for him," said Saints boss George Burley.
