Peterborough sign Boyd

George Boyd |
Peterborough United have completed the signing of highly-rated winger George Boyd from Nationwide Conference side Stevenage Borough.
The 21-year-old, who was paraded in front of the London Road fans during Saturday's FA Cup draw with Plymouth, cost ambitious Posh a Conference-record £260,000 and has signed a four-and-a-half year deal.
Boyd has now trained with his new team-mates for the first time and will go straight into manager Keith Alexander's squad to face Darlington on Saturday.
"The fans have been brilliant to me here ever since I broke into the team, they have supported me throughout my time here and I can't thank them enough," Boyd told Stevenage's official website.
"I have just got on with playing football and not taken a lot of notice about the speculation. If someone was going to come in for me they would come in - when Peterborough came in it was a lot of money and obviously Phil couldn't turn it down."
