Welling mourn Hobbins
Graham Hobbins

It is with great sadness that we record the sudden and tragic death of Graham Hobbins of Welling United Football Club.

Graham suffered a stroke at the Clubs Home FA Trophy match against Worcester City on Saturday and never recovered.

His Wife Pam, Son Barry and Brother Barry where at his bedside when passed away peacefully early yesterday morning.

Graham was a larger than life person who was respected by all who met him as he was part of the real football family.

Graham was a Director and General Manager of Welling the club his father founded back in 1972.

He served on the Football Conference Management Committee for many years and he opinions were always based on what was best for the competition and fairness as he took the wider view in all matters.

John Moules Conference Operations Director who attended the match on Saturday and paid tribute to Graham, "As a great personal friend and football person who will be sadly missed by all in the football family".

John spoke for everyone when he said that, "He and his family thoughts along with all connected with Conference and football were for Grahams family, wife Pam, son Barry and brother Barrie at this time."

Details of the funeral arrangements will be provide when confirmed.
