Oxford sign Lions striker
Jim Smith

Coca-Cola League One side Millwall have allowed striker Chris Zebroski to join Nationwide Conference promotion-chasers Oxford United on loan.

The 20-year-old has moved to the Kassam Stadium on a one-month loan, with the option of extending the deal to the end of the season.

Oxford manager Jim Smith has made the signing as he is without striker Steve Basham, who has a knee injury, for the remainder of the season.

Zebroski was on trial with the U's prior to joining Millwall in the summer and Lions boss Willie Donachie believes the striker's spell at the Kassam Stadium will aid his development.

He told the club's website: "Chris is a good lad and a good pro but he's only young and needs games rather than just training.

"We thought Chris would benefit from the move. But we're certainly not pushing him out because I see a great future for him in the game."
