York City have completed three new signings as the club prepare for the remaining eight fixtures of their Nationwide Conference campaign.
The Minstermen have signed Darlington left-back Craig James (24) on loan until the end of the season.
The former Sunderland and Port Vale defender has made 29 appearances for the Quakers this term.
Manager Billy McEwan has also recruited Whitley Bay striker Phil Bell - a recent trialist for their reserves - and Gainsborough Trinity defender Ben Purkiss on loan.
Centre-forward Bell - listed at 6 foot 5 ins - has scored 22 goals in 40 appearances for Whitley Bay since joing from Northern League rivals Chester-le-Street Town last summer.
Attacking right-sided defender Purkiss signed for Gainsborough after being released by Sheffield United four years ago.
York face problems in defence ahead of crucial meetings against play-off rivals Exeter City, Stevenage Borough, Gravesend & Northfleet and Burton Albion over the next fortnight.
Darren Craddock has already been ruled out for the rest of the season through injury, while James Dudgeon and Nathan Peat both face imminent suspension.
Meanwhwile, on loan Hungarian centre-back Janos Kovacs is coming to the end of a month's loan from Chesterfield.
