Tindall in Weymouth talks
|
Martyn Harrison, chairman of Nationwide Conference side Weymouth, has revealed that he's opened contract talks with player-manager Jason Tindall.
The 29-year-old took up the reins at Wessex Stadium in January this year on an initial deal that was due to expire at the end of the season.
Another important development for the club this week has been the news that a consortium, headed by football agent Neil Sillett, has allegedly struck a deal to buy the club.
"From what I can gather someone came up with Neil Sillett's name a few weeks ago and people have just stuck with it," Harrison told the Dorset Echo.
"I have spoken to him but he is not involved in one of the two groups of people I had in mind last week.
"I have not sold my shares and no agreements have been reached at this time although we will be sitting down over the next 24 hours with Jason Tindall to plan next year. We have got to get that moving fairly soon.
"Jason has done a very good job over the last few months and we are a lot more positive about everything now. We have an option to extend his contract and that is something we will be speaking about over the next 24 hours.
"The players have also been fantastic and it is great to see them out and about in the local community more. Their performances on the pitch have been good and it has been great to see some of the youth academy lads coming through and gaining experience.
"The atmosphere in the squad is tremendous at the moment and it is important people realise that we are now making steps forward."
