Nuneaton swoop for Ashby
|
Roger Ashby, manager of Nationwide North club Nuneaton Borough, has snapped up Moor Green's top scorer from last season, Gary McPhee.
McPhee was transfer-listed by the Moors at the end of last season and boss Ashby had no hesitation in making a move for the prolific marksman.
The 26-year-old slotted home eighteen goals in thirty-eight appearances and Moor Green have accepted a four-figure sum for his services.
"Gary is pacy, confident and has an eye for goal," Ashby told iccoventry.icnetwork.co.uk.
"We have players with the physical presence and can finish but we need someone who is sharp, closes down defenders quickly and knows where the net is and in Gary I reckon we have someone with those assets.
"He will give us something extra, plus a healthy competition for places with Gez Murphy, Duane Darby, Brian Quailey and David Blenkinsopp all clambering to be in the starting line-up."
