Worcester suffer Danks blow

Nationwide North club Worcester City have been dealt a heavy blow with news that striker Mark Danks is expected to miss the first six to eight weeks of the new season.

The frontman broke the fifth metatarsal bone in his foot during a training run, leaving player-manager Andy Preece with just three fully-fit strikers to choose from.

City's players returned to pre-season training on Friday and they will also be put through their paces on Saturday and Sunday.

Their first friendly is on Saturday, 15th July when newly-promoted Cheltenham Town are the visitors to St George's Lane.
