Crawley unveil new squad
|
John Hollins, manager of Nationwide Conference side Crawley Town has unveiled a new look squad ahead of the pre-season opener against Millwall on Saturday.
The club were in a dire situation until recently with the majority of last season's squad leaving the club, but boss Hollins has managed to attract some big names recently.
Hollins has rebuilt his squad around the players who chose to stay - Danny Brown, Dave Woozley, Tony Scully, Lee Blackburn and Ben Judge.
The most notable player to sign for the Red Devils has been former Manchester City, Birmingham and Portsmouth defender Scott Hiley following his release by Exeter City.
Striker Ben Strevens has signed for the club from League Two side Barnet and former Southend and Oxford forward Mark Rawle has also joined.
"I have been calling in a few favours and using my contacts and these are just some of the names we have got at the moment," Hollins told The Argus.
"We can't keep any of them until the administrator has sorted things out and we know that if somebody sees them do well against Millwall they will take them but that is the way it is.
"Most of them are without a club and we have asked them to come along. They have trained and worked with us and they want to play, which is good.
"There will be more to come if things sort themselves out. We could have a couple of crackers but we will have to see what happens."
