Oxford beat Brighton
|
Nationwide Conference newcomers Oxford United have got their pre-season off to a flying start with a 3-1 victory over Brighton and Hove Albion at Bisham Abbey.
The game was broken up into three 30 minute periods of play and Oxford triallist Rob Duffy was in fine fettle bagging a brace.
Yemi Odubade notched up a goal as well to give Oxford the two goal cushion and manager Jim Smith was pleased with his team's overall performance.
"It was a good work out, and allowed us to look at one or two things. It gave the lads a chance to play some football and it will have helped both teams I think," Smith told the club's official website.
"Overall I was very pleased with how it went and now we go back to the hard work today, with a fitness session this morning and some more technical work this afternoon."
