Jacobs pens new Halifax deal

Halifax Town assistant manager Wayne Jacobs has penned a new two-year contract as Chris Wilder's assistant at the Nationwide Conference National club.

The Shaymen have received a double boost with the news that coach Lee Butler has also agreed to extend his stay by signing an extension to his current deal.

Jacobs arrived last summer from League One outfit Bradford City and replaced Sean McAuley as The Shay number two.

Boss Wilder, who has agreed a contract extension of his own, was delighted that he had tied up deals with his backroom staff.

"It is great news for us," said Wilder. "I am a great believer in continuity and Wayne and Lee agreeing to extend their deals gives us that.

"I was always keen to keep them on board. Having a good team off the field is vital to having a good team on it."
