Nuneaton Borough forward Gary McPhee has been awarded the FA Cup "Player of the Round" award for the second qualifying round.

Nuneaton Borough forward Gary McPhee has been awarded the FA Cup "Player of the Round" award for the second qualifying round.

McPhee bagged an 18-minute hat-trick during his side's 6-0 win over local rivals Oadby Town and as a result will be invited to the 2007 FA Cup Final.

The Conference North forward won 43 per cent of votes cast by a total of 16,553 fans.

Danny Toronczak of Ossett Albion, who scored twice in his side's 2-1 win over Workington, was second behind McPhee, polling 31 per cent of the votes.

Kettering Town's Craig Westcarr came third with 12 per cent, while the two other nominations, Charley Hearn and Arron Benstead, of Fisher Athletic and Haverhill Rovers, both claimed seven per cent.

As well as an engraved silver salver, McPhee will get to donate £500 of football equipment to a local school.
