Northwich seal Dodds deal
|
Steve Burr |
Northwich Victoria have benefitted from Leicester City manager Rob Kelly's decision to allow striker Louis Dodds to join them on a one-month loan.
Dodds has been on the periphery at Walkers Stadium, although he has impressed at junior and reserve levels since his move to the club three years ago.
But the 20-year-old has not yet managed to break into the first team, and Leicester assistant boss Mike Stowell believes a stint at a lower-league club can do the player a world of good.
Stowell told Leicester's official website: "Louis is a promising young striker who needs to get some football under his belt.
"He's scored at every level since he's been here and it's just a question now as to whether he can take the next step.
"The move gives us the chance to take a good look at him. We'll have someone at all his games and we'll watch him closely. He's still learning and growing into the game.
"Several clubs from the Conference had expressed an interest in taking Louis on loan. He's certainly hot property at that level."
Vics boss Steve Burr will be delighted with his latest aquisition, and will be hoping Dodds can score the goals that can propel Northwich up the Conference table and away from the drop zone.
