Weymouth sign Weatherstone

Nationwide Conference newcomers Weymouth have clinched the signature of former Stevenage Borough midfielder Simon Weatherstone.

The Reading-born midfielder played under manager Gary Hill at Hornchurch before making the switch to Stevenage Borough in November 2004.

However, the 26-year-old was released at the end of May last season and has decided to re-unite with boss Hill by signing a one-year deal with the Terras.

Weatherstone started his career as a trainee at Oxford United before moving on to Boston united in February, 2001.

He then signed for Yeovil town in January, 2004 for a fee of £15000 but after just seven month's the midfielder was released and joined up with Gary Hill at Hornchurch.

Weatherstone is the Terras' sixth new signing since they gained promotion the Nationwide Conference.
