Turley signs new deal
|
Nationwide Conference newcomers Oxford United have been boosted by news that goalkeeper Billy Turley has penned a new contract at The Kassam Stadium.
The Wolverhampton-born stopper signed for Oxford in June last year after being released by Rushden & Diamonds on a free transfer.
"This club is going forward," Turley told the club's official website.
"The Kassam era is over and in the cold light of day maybe we had to hit rock bottom to come back up. If I'd left here when we'd been relegated it would have left a bad taste in my mouth.
"Jim Smith is a legend in football, the new chairman is so positive, and I know that I'd regret it if I went to another club and then saw Oxford do well next year and wasn't part of it.
"I feel the club is going forward now and I want to play my part."
