York trial for Evans

Goalkeeper Tommy Evans has joined Nationwide Conference side York City on trial following his release by Scunthorpe.

The Doncaster-born player made 23 appearances for Scunthorpe last season as he battled for the number one jersey with Paul Musselwhite.

Evans will feature in City's pre-season campaign and manager Billy McEwan is hoping to have 6 players on board before the new season starts.

Nathan Peat, Emmanuel Panther, Neal Bishop, Mark Convery, Bryan Stewart and Clayton Donaldson have all been offered contract extensions by City.
