Boss salutes hard work
Tony Godden

Rushden & Diamonds caretaker boss Tony Godden felt "sheer hard work" helped his team beat Nationwide Conference leaders Oxford United 1-0.

"They have been flying, they have big crowds and can pay good wages, but we were spot on today," he told BBC.

"We played 4-5-1 but we thought when we had the ball, we could attack with the two midfielders Tom Shaw and Curtis Woodhouse getting into the box."

He also commented on how the team used the formation perfectly and how much the win means to the club.

He continued: "It worked to perfection for Curtis to get his goal, and the three points are a lifeline for the club."
